From its origins in the early 1980s, Jamaican dancehall has experienced a significant change. Initially a raw sound emanating from shebeens in Kingston, it soon developed as a distinct form of music. Early pioneers like Yellowman and Eek-a-Mouse paved the way for a new era, characterized by deejaying over backing tracks. The latter half of the 80s
